We are still in recovery and relief mode here in #Naples and will be for some time yet. But I can not say enough about everyone pitching in a hand and doing their part. Just in 5 days, the community has been cleaned up so much! It's truly amazing.
We have been donating food, water, clothes, toys, etc. to the TwinEagles maintenance shed where many of our golf course grounds crew were deeply affected. For those of us that rode out the storm in the area or those returning quickly, this is a way to help immediately. And sustained help will be needed so remote donations will be needed too. There has been talks for the last few days about donating from afar and I don't personally know if the TwinEagles Club has anything for that at the moment, but it has been very hectic here.
Many have sustained damage in Immokalee, Bonita Springs low lying areas, Marco Island and more. This will take time to recover.
But I will say this. I can not say enough about the strength of the quality of homes and condos built after the newer hurricane building codes (late 1990's-2000's). 👏🏻 💪🏻
Of course lanai cage, screens and roofing tiles can only be expected to receive damage during the high winds, but the primary structures are impressive. Hats off to the structural engineers, architects, and builders.
